Read about a special donation made by some very special young ladies!!
Wow! What a year we’ve had already in 2007-2008 Awana at South Newport.
We have a new Commander, Grant Peterson, who replaced Julianne Hope. Julianne moved to the Trek Club, and has seen increased enrollment there grow to 15 as of January 13th. Seems like every club is growing by leaps and bounds, and on January 13th, we had a record 45 clubbers in attendance.
Other good news at South Newport: We now have a Youth Minister, Eric Grissino, AND the congregation approved construction of a much needed Multi-Worship center which will have a gym (Yeah – no more taking tables down for Awana Games), a children’s church, a fellowship hall with commercial kitchen, and many much needed classrooms.
We praise the Lord for what He’s doing at South Newport!

Hi Terry,
This is Mike Robson from Victory Baptist in Valdosta.
I thought I would take a moment and let you know what God is doing in our Awana program this year. To date we are now running between 40-50 kids(up from last year's 25-30). And as of last night between our bus ministry bringing the kids to Church and our Awana program we have seen 7 young people accept Christ since August. The best part is that on the 1st Wednesday in October we had 4 of the 7 kids accept Christ on the same night. One of them being my youngest son. I am excited to see what God is doing and he laid it on my heart to write this note to you. I hope you would find lots of encouragement and excitement in this. I know we are excited to see all of this and are praying for more souls to be saved.
I pray for your ministry frequently and I pray that God continues to bless you and all that you are trying to get done for Him and the Awana program.

Just wanted to bring you up to date on our Clubs. We kicked things off last Wednesday with 47 clubbers in attendance. That is, Puggles - Truth Trackers. We did a pretty good job of getting the word out about our clubs (newspapers and rented sign space). This past Sunday we had four new families (parents included) who attended because their kids have started in the AWANA ministry. There is alot of excitement about the ministry and we have alraedy had to make some purchases and adjustments because of the response. I really look for us to add 15-20 kids over the next few weeks based on our enrollment.
Thought you'd like to know.

Dear Terry and Jenny,
I just wanted to let you know what a blessing Awana has been to our church. We started the year out with about 20 kids and finished up with over 50. We also had between 40 and 50 adults helping each week.
Our workers and children enjoy the time of fellowship and learning on Wednesday nights during Awana. We had a wonderful Awana year end ceremony in May and honored all of the children and adults who helped. Awana makes everyone feel that they are responsible for the success of the club, which they are.
