Awana presents churches an opportunity to recruit and train lay people to assume leadership roles within the club programs. Church members who become Awana leaders receive proven training and personal experience in evangelism and discipleship. Men and women who ordinary don’t serve anywhere within the church find a ministry home. Church members become mobilized and motivated for Christian service.

Adults aren’t the only people whom God calls to serve Him. Awana believes firmly in the need for churches to train their leadership at a young age. Our club and youth programs begin to equip youth for services shortly after a child or teen is saved. The Awana Leaders-in-Training program gives older teens the opportunity to develop ministry skills as they help lead younger clubs like Cubbies.

Teens can be challenged to consider full-time missionary or ministry service while receiving actual missions experience through the Awana Missionary-in-Training (MIT) program. MIT teams receive thorough missionary training before being sent to locations around the world to work short-term on the mission field. Many young people come back with heart’s filled committed to the Lord.

Members of your church can enable other churches to serve children through the Adopt-a-Club program. Churches, clubs, families, leaders, and individuals can provide financial and prayerful support for a church in another country that can’t afford to start an Awana Club. A club of about 15 children can be sponsored for just $15.00 a month through Adopt-a-Club. 100 percent of all money donated to Adopt-a-Club goes to support international missions. Adopt-a-Club is a neat way for children, teens, and adults to contribute to the Lord’s work.
